I just got home from my old institute and as I type this, I am eating dinner and listening to the famous town meeting debate in St. Louis. Unfortunately I have no television set (which means I cannot look for the wires feeding Bush all words greater than one syllable. Quick, what *is* the name of that Italian leader? "Silvia Berluschhhs?"..oops wire short there.)

Alas, I'm a bit glum this evening because I learned that my National Science Foundation proposal was rejected. Sigh. I soo wanted that. But well, at least the program director encouraged me strongly to resubmit. So, there is a chance, if I put in more work. Ah well.
