..evening out...

Yesterday I taught my last class and today I was scrambling to finish making the 200 copies of my final exam. I finally finished around 5:30pm this evening, at which point my colleague offered to take me out to dinner. He wanted to repay me for teaching his classes last week, and I willingly accepted. This colleague knows my favorite restaurant because we take job candidates there all the time, so it was extremely kind of him and his wife to take me there.

It was a lovely evening with good food and conversation. Plus, we had had a faculty meeting today - it was especially nice to detox after that. Interesting to observe how our department needs to intoxicate to detoxify... But it was thoroughly enjoyable with them.
