...things that made me cry today...

Everyday things that normally don’t invoke tears (but did):

1. laundry
2. a happy old couple on the skytrain
3. a student project to build a funicula up the mountain
4. microfossils
5. my bra size

Things today that really did merit tears:

1. A list of 63 scholars needlessly denied entry to the USA

2. The unexpected suicide of a former colleague (successful researcher, beloved teacher, mother, and wonderful person)
