Yesterday was the first day of classes, which means that the buses are packed to the rim with students, and the line to get on the bus up the hill is crazy.

I got off the skytrain, walked halfway down the stairs inside the station, and joined the back of the line - which then went out the station, around the corner, halfway down the block and into the bus.

But no worries. Because translink representatives were there - playing salsa music at 8:30am - with their first-day-of-school prizes: free transit link maps, and a fresh pair of women's bamboo fiber socks.

Sorry guys, just women's. but in a lovely bamboo fiber.

I didn't ask. I just took the socks.
