2008-06-23 - 10:01 a.m. ..."scratch any cynic and you'll find a disappointed idealist"... Sad but true. George Carlin, source of Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television," has died at the age of 71. I saw him live back in 1990 and it was one of those occasions where I laughed so hard that my sides hurt. What amazed me about George Carlin was how he could make a bit about domesticated animals and another bit about antidisestablishmentarianism equally funny. I recently wrote that the world needs more Howard Zinns and Pete Seegers. We also need a few more 1970s-ish George Carlins out there to make us roar with laughter while rocking our boats. Rest in Peace, Mr. Carlin. leave a note
