As of 4:47pm (Toronto time) today, 1/4 of respondents to a globe-n-mail poll state that they do not believe in evolution.

This poll stems from an article about the Canadian Minister of State for Science and Technology, who is behind the most recent cuts to research and who apparently will not publicly support the science of evolution. The article can be found here.

***POSTSCRIPT on 18 March 2009: The poll now states that 46% of respondents do not believe in evolution. Trying to decide if the poll has been complete co-opted or if I now live in North Kansas.
