...sending the power of love, thoughts, prayer...

Two weeks ago, one of my German colleagues discovered that his cancer - which had been in remission for nine years - has returned. The doctors operated immediately and removed much of his second kidney. (The first was removed nine years ago). Last week, he was struggling with recovery, feeling tired, and drained. It looked as though he would need to go on dialysis. Just today I learned that he has taken another turn for the worse - he has developed pneumonia and is in intensive care. It does not sound good.

He is the husband of one of my dearest friends and colleagues. They have two young boys. I cannot imagine what she is feeling. All I can do from this distance is to send whatever strength that can be carried with my thoughts, love, and prayers.
