Yes, one day past my seminar I'm already gaining perspective. First of all, it wasn't such a big deal to make a mistake of screwing up the timing. Second of all, I think that I probably underestimated the audience interest. There were people who were still paying attention right up to the very end. And as I think about it, not asking a question does not mean lack of interest. It can also mean that the backgrounds of your audience members are so different that they have no questions. A seminar can be enjoyable even if it is merely a fact-finding mission.

Anyway, I have been rather exhausted after the last three days and so I chose to work at home today, away from the hassles of setting things up. It has worked, because I was able to read a few papers and do some work on the special issue. K and I will take a break for exercise now, and when we return I will delve into the book chapter that I am supposed to be writing.

I am really ready to start collecting and thinking about data again!
