2007-03-24 - 10:17 a.m. ...weeks without stop... Last week I had essentially no down time after K's friend Ulle arrived from Germany on Saturday evening. So this entry will sound a bit like a calendar posting. On Sunday I worked on lectures and graded papers before having dinner with them. (K and Ulle, not the papers) On Monday I graded, had three hours of meetings and taught 2 hours before grading more. On Tuesday I had 2-hour class, 1-hour mtg with undergraduate student, afternoon with K and Ulle going to computer store and tea over the water. Evening spent preparing a presentation for a Christian university out in Langley. Wednesday morning devoted to public transportation (2 hrs) out to Langley, spoke with students and professors, gave a 1 1/2 hour class on climate change, spoke with more students, spent another 2 hours on public transportation, had a 1 1/2 hr research meeting with grad student, followed by my last choir rehearsal. public transit time spent grading. Thursday --> breakfast with K and Ulle at the airport before her flight back to Germany, 1 hour doctor's appointment, afternoon of extensive grading. Friday --> 3-hour media workshop, 1 1/2 hour meeting with grad student committee deciding on who gets fellowships next yr, 1/2 hour with my work study student in the lab, 1 hour phone meeting with my TA, quick dinner at the uni which I ate while doing more grading, followed by choir concert, and evening of making bread (for today): TODAY --> finish bread. clean house. prepare food for former department chair who heads back to Oz in two weeks. TOMORROW --> do laundry, write lecture for monday, grade MORE assignments (I am WAY behind). MISSING from schedule: more department admin. finishing next phase of editing work on special issue. research. running. feeling human again. leave a note
