...home for the day...

I saw the specialist this morning. Her general conclusion? I look good. I look tired. I look HUGE. Still running about 4 weeks larger than normal - which will soon make me the equivalent of a 44-week pregnant lady. ugh. Now there's something to look forward to. :-( She also looked at my ankles and said that they probably explained some weight gain. And then she sent me home - or rather she said, "How are you feeling?" and I said, "exhausted." and she said, "then don't go to work. go home. blame it on me." And that's what I've done.

So then K and I did some grocery shopping at the way-cool shopping mall where her office is located (no, it's really a WAY-COOL mall - quiet, little no-name shops, lots of windows and skylights letting in natural light, built around an historic building with exposed brick - it's lovely). and then we came home. I'm going upstairs to lie in bed and grade exams now. At least I can do this from a prone position, without having to sit on a crowded bus for an hour.

Oh - by the way, every trace of snow has vanished from Vancouver. The temps rose by about 10 degrees overnight, and we were left with a windy rain. K is convinced that this only happened because he spent fifteen minutes clearing the snow/rain/ice combination off the car yesterday afternoon. If he hadn't the temperature would have arbitrarily DROPPED 10C and we would have been skating down the roads instead. In other words, the entire city should be thanking him now.
