..brief check-in...

I've been having trouble updating lately. I think it must be the sheer volume of activity to which I'm committed at the moment. Our nanny has been away all last week, and K just left for Europe for a week today. I have a friend from DC visiting this evening, and I was up at 6:30am this morning to give a virtual presentation at a workshop in France. This on top of the usual chores. Luckily, my parents are visiting, or I don't know how I would function. Yes I do. I'd pay through the nose for a babysitter.

Yesterday started with some great excitement - it was Susi's first swimming lesson! She seemed to have a wonderful time in the water, although still a wee bit hesitant about putting her ears under. But it was great fun for us both, and extremely tiring. Susi collapsed for a 2 1/2 hour nap right afterwards, sleeping through even the loudest noises.

If I'm truthful (which I generally am), I'd say that I rather like to have some time on my own, away from my partner. I do. It's kind of like recharging our batteries. But I'm already thinking about having him back.
