...the landlady...
The following email arrived this morning..
...
Your end of tenancy inspection report is almost ready. Please be prepared
for the fact that we did over 20 hrs of cleaning (each task is documented, along with photos), and about the same in drywall repairs. All holes are documented with photos. I would very much like to return the balance of your damage deposit, but can't do so until we get our copy of the inspection report back and we agree on charges owing. We feel it's reasonable to ask for reimbursement in the amount of $10/hr for cleaning and $15/hr for drywall repairs and painting. I'll draft the report based on these amounts unless I hear otherwise from you.
We only discovered three areas of damage: cat scratching to the back door, which meant having to replace the weather stripping (this was newly done
prior to you moving in), several new nicks to the bathroom porcelain sink,
for which Landlord had to buy a kit to repair; the California Closet - at least
one shelf will need to be replaced. They still carry the finish, I just
need to get an estimate for the cost. We put your shelf in the back alley
but nobody has taken it. Would you like us to take it to the dump and
charge you for the mileage/dump fee or would you like to remove it yourself?
Thanks for the apples by the way. I think they're the most delicious apples
I've eaten in a long, long time. What's the varietal?
